Types of Bathtubs
Unlike before when a bathtub was for the rich only, tubs are now important part of the bathroom. It is also a place to relax. A lot of people own at least one.
Below are the types of tubs.
- Soaking bathtubs
- These are deeper than the standard ones. Meant for soaking, these do not have shower attachments.
- Roman Tubs are mounted on the floor.
- Greek Tubs are perfect for compact spaces because of its size that is shorter when compared with other soaking tubs.
- Built-in tubs
- These are the most common found in homes.
- Alcove tubs have their three sides enclosed.
- Drop-in tubs are mounted on decks along with the faucets.
- Freestanding bathtubs
- These are neither mounted nor built into floors. The faucets for these tubs can either be mounted on the side or wall/floor mounted.
- Clawfoot tubs
- Pedestal tubs
- Special tubs
- These are tubs with special features.
- Whirpool tubs have jets and are added for pleasure and extra comfort.
- ADA tubs and walk in tubs are designed for the elders and handicaps.
- Aqua Massage tubs or hot air tubs release bubbles from the holes in the bottom and/or sides.
The different types of bathtubs are designed to fit into the wants and needs of people. While the main purpose of these are for the cleaning of the body, designing special ones lets everyone enjoy the luxury it can offer, both with comfort and relaxation.
